Effective 22 September 2026
Lumina Bible (“Lumina,” “we”) makes a bilingual Bible app and this website. This policy explains what we collect and why, in plain terms, and is written to be accurate about what the software actually does.
The part that matters most
When you write in this app about what you’re going through, that text is the most personal thing we hold. Everything below is about it.
We don’t read it. No person here sees what you write. It isn’t reviewed, it isn’t sampled for quality, and it isn’t used to improve anything.
It never appears in our logs. When something goes wrong we record which reflection failed and why, never what it said. That is a constraint in the code, not a policy promise: the logging line records an identifier, a safety flag, a passage reference, a latency and a token count, and nothing else.
It is used for one thing only — producing the response you get back, once. It is not used to train any model, ours or anyone else’s. It is not used for advertising. There is no advertising in this app.
You can delete it, and deletion is real. Any single reflection, from History. Everything at once, by deleting the app from your device. Deleted means removed from the database, not hidden behind a flag.
Nobody else can read it. Every row is locked to the anonymous session that created it, at the database level, so even a bug in the app cannot show your writing to another person.
Who else sees it
To answer you, the app has to send what you wrote to three companies. All three are named because naming them is the honest thing to do.
Anthropic — twice. Once to check whether what you’ve written suggests you’re in crisis, so the app can respond appropriately; once to write the response itself.
Voyage AI — once, to turn what you wrote into a numerical representation of its meaning. That is how the app finds a passage that fits your situation rather than one that merely shares a keyword.
Supabase — our database and server host, in the United States. This is where your reflections and notes are stored, and where the functions that call the two services above are run.
What we send is your text and nothing else: no name, no email, no account identifier.
What else the app stores
- Your highlights, bookmarks and notes. Notes are your own words, and are treated with the same care as reflections.
- Where you were reading, so you can pick it back up.
- No account. This version has no sign-up and no login. The app uses an anonymous session tied to your device, so we hold no email address and no name.
- Counts of things you did — that a reflection happened, not what it said.
Your choices
- Use the app without giving us a name, an email address or any account.
- Delete any reflection, at any time, from History.
- Delete everything at once by removing the app from your device.
- What you leave behind is removed automatically after 30 days of not using the app.
Nobody is watching
People write about self-harm in apps like this one. There is no mechanism by which such a disclosure reaches a person here. The app presents crisis resources rather than contacting anyone on your behalf, and we would rather say so plainly than let anyone assume otherwise at a moment when that assumption would matter.
Your rights
You can see the personal information tied to you, correct it, take a copy, or delete it. Deletion is real removal from the database, not a hidden flag. To make a request, write to the address below.
Keeping your information
Reflections and notes are kept until you delete them. Because the app runs on an anonymous session, what you leave behind is removed automatically after 30 days without use, and backups roll off on the same schedule.
Children
Lumina is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and, where it fits, tell you in the app.
